Tech Talks

The Office of Information Technology’s Tech Talk series continues this month with more sessions on using technology both on and off campus. These sessions are designed to be taken by anyone on campus: faculty, staff and students. The sessions are offered in-person, and on the internet via the webinar link next to each session.

Use the Register button below to reserve your seat.  You will be taken to a registration form where you can choose your preferred session.  Make sure you sign up early, there are only 30 seats per session.  Faculty, Staff and Students are welcome and invited!

This month's talks are:

Using Microsoft Forms and Microsoft Stream
In the first part of this session, spend some time becoming familiar with Office 365's built-in forms product. Forms replaced the old Excel Surveys, allows users to create online forms for a variety of purposes that include registering for seminars (surprise), general data collection and even classroom quizzes. Once the form is created, the information can be viewed on the web or exported to Microsoft Excel.

The second part of this session will be focused on becoming familiar with, and learning the advantages to using Microsoft Stream – Office 365’s private, video sharing service. Think of it as “YouTube for Cedar Crest” – and come learn how you can integrate this service into your courses and office.

Creating Your Microsoft Team (Teams Part 2)
This talk will partially build on October's Introducing Microsoft Teams, but in this talk we will go through the process of building a Microsoft Team collaboration platform for a group, adding plug-ins and demonstrating its use and effectiveness. Bring a laptop or mobile device and be part of the action!
